Default 17" or 18"?

I am getting new tires and I am considering new wheels also. I have a 2002 A4 1.8T Sport Suspension. Please let me know what you think. Also, I would like to lower my car a bit. What should I get? I currently have the Sport Suspension with 17"wheels. Thanks!

i'd stick with the 17's. Tires for 18's are a lot more expensive.

For performance I would go down to a 15-6. You will lose a few MPH at your top speed but you'll gain acceleration and will have lighter wheels. Less rotating mass= better accleration.

What is a 15-6 and what specifically would you recommend to lower my car?

I mean 15" or 16"

If you're lowering your car, you're most likely doing it for looks. I would go with 18's if I was going for show. If you drive it a lot stay with the 17's, 18" tires are expensive.

Simple... 18's are for looks & handling. I don't think they look all that great but thats just me. 17's & lower are cheaper, last longer & are lighter. (unless you get racing rims)

If you are going to get a lightweight wheel, I would go with 18". If not, stick with 17". Honestly, if you already have the sport suspension, I would leave it alone. It handles very well, and doesn't leave much wheel gap even with a 17" wheel.

Well, it looks like I am gonna get 17's. I will not lower it since I have the sport suspension, I will just get the H Sport Sway bars; heard they make a very BIG difference! Thoughts...

def 18s, Compared to 17s they look alot better. 18s are the perfect size on an audi

Here is the deal...if you have an 02' with sport suspension and you go with 18's then you are going to lose the ride comfort a little more and if you lower it even more it is going to be a close fit to the wheel well. Given the 18's do look better then the 17's, if you are looking for the all-around best, lower it then put 17's on it, racing of course.

I still think 17's are the ways to go. 18's can look a little tacky at the best of times on an Audi BUT they can also make the car something special (on the right Audi). If you have already got sports suspension. Go put a set of 17's on it and take it for a burn. See how you go then try the 18's. . . . . . . Make sure you take a pi.ss before hand cos it'll be bumpy as hell.
