Default 1997 AUDI KEYFOB PROGRAMING!!!!

Ok guys, quick story about my experience with my AUDI A4 1.8T FWD AUTOMATIC TRANNY

I bought this car with no motor, the previous owner somehow blew 2 large holes in the block, so all the pistons etc where visible and no repair was possible, so i purchased a motor from a junkyard (1998 i was told, was working prior to wreckage)

The motor installation went ok, purchased new battery, new full syntethic oil and started to use the car.

Keyfob works great even after the car had no battery for like 2 months, but after like a month of using the keyfob it quit on me!

So i started reading all the forums, purchased a vag com, tried all the ways it listed to re program the key, BTW, i only have 1 keyblade.

So i could not adapt the keyfob again (even with vag) without a second key.

So this is where it gets interesting, because in all the forums i read among many other web pages, nobody ever mentioned to do the following:

1) Lock the door (keep the key turned inside the lock)
2) Press the unlock button on the keyfob.

Then it immediately started working again!!!!

Have tested it now for a while and it is still working.

Has anyone ever heard of programing a keyfob this way?

BTW, my keyfob only has unlock/lock and panic buttons (2)

Hope this helps someone else if you dont have 2 keys program it.......

1999 Audi A6 Reprogramming Key FOB !

This works!! Holy cow man, I have been wondering how I'd do this, (I have only one key as well...) And man just as easy as that it works.

Turn the key to lock, leave it there (turned to the right) and simply push the unlock button. Baboom!

Thanks A LOT man! You saved me tons.

Nate
