1998 Audi A4 filter element problems.
 

My 1998 Audi A4 2.8l has a problem. The filter element keeps running when I turn the car off. It is also drawing power off the battery of course and ran down a brand new battery. The car has been parked for about a month now because of finances I'm scared to see how much it will be to fix it. When I tried to jumpstart the car as soon as I hook up the cables it starts running again and I can't even jumpstart it. I'm not sure what to do. I'm gonna take it to a shop for sure but I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem or if anyone could tell me what was wrong and how much it might be to fix. Thanks in advance.
