Default 1999 Audi A4 possible engine problem

Hey guys, I recently picked up a 1999 a4 5spd blah blah 1.8t, chipped, borla exhaust, etc etc. anyway..

the car sputters when i punch it, and the turbo lags, so it doesnt spool up right away. I had a CEL and got it checked, and it had nothing to do with the engine. It was something else. Anyway, I was on my way to a friends house and then my CEL flashing light came on. I knew something was wrong obviously, the car was constantly sputtering. Sounds like an STI with an exhaust when i go AT ANY SPEED. Im clueless on what to do, and the closest audi dealership is an hour away. Any help would be greatly apprecaited. I need to have it fixed by tuesday. If anyone has ANY ideas, please call me. 630-740-7369 or email me at teamdaraptor@yahoo.com

thanks so much guys!

Mike

If your CEL was flashing then you are misfiring. That means you have either a bad coil pack or packs, or your sparkplugs are messed up. Could be a couple other things but just check those out. Also the CTS or Coolant Temp Sensor can cause a lot of problems with the car. Mine was bad and I was getting a bunch of random stuff happening to my car. Once I fixed it everything else was fine.

A bad ECTS wont cause a misfire.

If your CEL was flashing Ill bet my right, no wait, LEFT nut its either your ICM or a coil pack(s).

Get your ecu scanned and post the codes.

It really bothers me that you are trying to put a dollar value on my reproductive organs. As for the sticker... If I wanted trash, there is a waste basket within reaching distance [8D]
