2.8 exhaust noob question

ok, I've donesome searching through the forums and it appears that the magnaflow 14862 is a good muffler for the 30v 2.8. My question is will thisweld right up to the existing piping or doI need some custom pipe work done? LikeI saidI realize this is sorta anoob question so don't flame me to hard. haha. Also is this worth doing? I can't stand the stock exhaust and my friend hasa full exhaust butI don't have that kind of cash right now soI'm just looking for something with a bit more growl.

i did the exact set up on mine...yes and no to answer your question....your stock exhaust's inlet is off centered slighty while the magnaflow 14862 is centered...I took it to a muffler shop where they cut the "s" pipe that connects to the muffler and made a new s pipe to allow for the different inlet positions...40 bucks...well worth it and only took em like 15 minutes! the muffler sounds awesome on the a4 with 2.8s...no rasp or anything and I'm using stock everything except the muiffler itself

get a custom 2"-2.5" exhaust to go with the muffler. wont be more than 400 w/ install and it'll sound sick

RE: 2.8 exhaust noob question

however for future refrence you are saying I could get a custom cat-back or axle-back for that kind of cash?

RE: 2.8 exhaust noob question

cat back shouldn't run more than 400. since you already have the muffler it'll probly be even cheaper. just make sure you take it to a place that does quality work. you dont want any exhaust leaks
