2.8L 12v idle problems

Hey everyone, I have a 1996 A4 Quattro 2.8L. For the past couple months my car has had a funky idle, it jumps up and down constantly while idiling. When it first started it was not too terrible, but I think its getting worse. Any ideas on what it could be? I have heard possibly the throtle body or even the EGR system may need to be cleaned up. Any ideas?
Thanks!
-Dominic

it could be you need to clean the throttle body out and any vent pipes

is there a description on how to clean out the throttle body, because the same thing is happening in by 2.8 b5.

You need to do a leakdown dompression check to determine if there was any valve damage. If that comes back good then check your vaccuum lines for cracks and leaks, then try cleaning your MAF too. These are simple things to do and can save a lot of hassle and time, not ot mention money.
