2000 Audi A4 radio dead after jumpstart
Hi,
I had to jumpstart my '00 A4 a couple of weeks ago. By accident I mixed up plus and minus, just for a second (it was really dark in the parking lot). Anyway, after jumpstarting it I noticed that the radio was not working, not even the radio lights. Everything else works fine. I checked the fuse in the fuse box and it is fine. Any ideas what may be wrong here? I've heard the Audi/VW radios have another fuse on the back of the head unit, how hard is it to get to? Thanks. Michael '00 A4 1.8T quattro |

Forgot to mention, it's a Bose Symphony unit (integrated CD/cassette/radio).

yes, there is another fuse on the back of the radio. You will need the radio removal keys in order to pull the radio out. You can also fabricate your own keys out of nail files.

you can buy them on ebay or tons of online radio stores. |

yep, it was a blown radio fuse. I just went to my local dealer (Schaumburg Audi) and they popped the
radio and replaced the fuse. All for 20 bucks. I am enjoying the tunes again. |
