Default 2nd gear question (newbie)

ok, please be patient this is my first audi (2002 a4 quattro 1.8t), and i just traded in my 425 hp c5 corvette for it (got married). so having driven the corvette for awhile and just having the car for 2 days i maybe paraniod. the car has super low miles 38,000 and is immaculent inside and out. the question is that i shift into 2nd gear and when i disengage the clutch the shifter moves down a little and i feel a little clunk. is this normal? it seems to only happen in second gear & not when i get into it, only on normal acceleration around 3000 rpm. not a grind just a clunk "feel". the car drives great etc. any ideas or am i a paranoid newbie? i do know i need to get used to driving such a drastically different car than mine.

thanks in advance!

chad

it's not just you bro, a lot of us have been complaining about out 2nd gears
Mine seems to be fine, but i must have heard your complaint from at least 20 others here on the forums (it's only 2nd gear they are complaining about as well, none of the other gears)...

so it seems it's just an AUDI thing.....

Yeah my car has the same thing. From what I've read it's just slack in the mounts and a snub mount can cure it.

for about $12 a greedspeed snub would be a worthwhile tihng to get to see if it eliminates your issue. I have one sitting in my garage and I'm waiting to install it.
