im thinking of buying ether a 2002 s4 or a 2005 3.0 a4 what do yall think?

 

def. with the newer car...u never know if the previous owner has done his maintanace as required.....the 05 is only a year old.....that should be your choice right there.....

 

if you do your proper research and the S4 checks out... definatly, definatly do the S4... its the way to go, im hoping to soon find me a good deal on an old B5 S4... il have to see how that goes

 

before you do anything, what are you planning on doing with the car? I think that 2002 is that bi-turbo joint, so you should be able to mod, plus stock its like 250hp. If you want to do some modding do the S-4, if not A4 3.0. I agree, the 3.0 will probably be more reliable since its newer, but if you plan on modding you won't get too far with it. The 3.0 is definitely a lovely car anyway.

Depends on your plans for the car. In my opinion, the S4 is a nice platform to mod. It's bi-turbo and 6 cylinders. the B6, eventhough it's a 3.0 is a sexier bitch!

 

if you want to mod and want a fast car and dont mind doing more maintainence and droppin a bit more cash.. go with the s4, but if you want a sexy cruiser get the a4

 

just get the s4 w/ a warranty.. if its a 2002, you might be able to get a 100K mile warranty, and then you shouldnt have to worry about repairs... I love b5s, and b5 S4's even more

 

In this case go with the 05 3.0. Just like the 3.0 that S4 is not very modable because the its a NA V8, not the very modable and faster biturbo platform in the b5 S4. So the newer car wins. BUT, I would get a b5 S4 rather than your two choices, but thats just me.
