Default 47 offset ok to run?

After we've got a bit of snow here in Iowa (3 inches+) I realized how WORTHLESS my Summer tires are in the snow. My Taurus SHO had better traction with summer tires.

Anyway... I was thinking of getting some 15" steel wheels off a VW but I was wondering if an ET47 offset would be OK to run. I want to run 15s because the winter tires I'm looking at are $55 each...

TIA!

haha ... Dont know about your offset question... But, yes, driving on summer tires in the snow=death wish. Found that out for myself last winter-not fun.

You can compare the clearance with your current wheels using this handy dandy offset calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
