Default 5 topics compiled... questions on body, tranny, lights, etc

I have the factory body kit. Do the plastic "grill" pieces come out? I don’t want to mess with it and break them without knowing. One piece up front is cracked, is there a way to replace just that part? Is it a bad idea to spray paint these pieces? I want it to look clean and they just look dull and faded.

The previous owner must have parked too close to the curb and/or bottomed out once too many times. It looks like some one took a wire brush to the under side of the front bumper cover. I’ve tried a clay bar and nothing. When my car is clean, the front looks like crap.

I’m looking to change out my tranny fluid. I have 60k miles on the car (6spd AWD) and I’m sure I’m fine but it just feels like its hard to in to gears when it shouldn’t be (almost like synchros are going). Am I wasting my time changing the fluid at 60k (probably never done before)? Which fluid should I use? How many tranny housings and transfer cases, etc do I have on the AWD? What are their capacities and which fluid is recommended?

If I “debadge” the rear end, are the badges going to leave holes in the trunk or are they just stick on? On a black car, where they have been on for almost 4 years, will I always have a sticky residue or ghost image of the badges once they’re off?

I had a thread on hear before about my rear fog light but never found out how to get to the bulb. Once I get in the trunk, is it going to be pretty obvious how to get to the bulb? My rear fog has never worked so I don't know where to look in the rear tail.

Yes, they come out. Try repairing the crack with jb-weld, and then sand it with 400grit. The jb-weld wiorks well on plastic and sands nicely. Then clean the whole grill with something like acetone or paint thinner. Then spray the grill with a plastic adhesion promoter, then some flat black auto paint / bumper paint.

Fill, sand, and paint that as well. Take extreme caution not to get paint on other parts of the car. I.E. cover the ENTIRE side of the car and top with plastic, or newspaper, or something. I am assuming that you are talking about the bottom black plastic around the bottom, not the bumper itself or the front quarter panel.

Its supposed to be lifetime, I think I would take it to a shop for this one to make sure all the old fluid is removed.

No hole, its glued on. Should shine up just fine. Search for this one, the process has been covered many times.

Should not be too hard to find/get to. Good luck!

No problem, you're welcome. Welcome to the forum. There's some good faq's/links at the top, will probably find a lot of other info here that you may be wondering about.
