60k Maintenance
Hey guys,
I currentlyy own a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 which I believe has a pending deal of $11,900 and I've already begun looking into A4's in my area to purchase. I found what seems to be (almost) the perfect one for me. I want a B5 Navy Blue 2.8L 5spd (don't really care about quattro) with the sweet *** black/light cream interior. The one I've found has all of that, except it's a 1.8T with 59k miles. I have a few questions..
1) It's $10,895 and I was told I might be able to get a price break since I need to do 60k maintenance pretty much right after buying it..Is this a good deal?
2) It's a turbo car and it's got 59k on it -- Is the turbo going to malfunction or break any time soon? I've never owned a turbo car before and don't want a piece of crap (this is why I feel safer with a 2.8L but they're more rare)
3) What does 60k maint. include and how much does it cost? I talked to the guy about the timing belt and he said the belt is ~$100. I told him I've heard of labor being upwards of $500 and he said it's not that much. How much is the total cost of the timing belt/60k?
I appreciate any knowledge you have to offer me
Thanks,
Tom

Well the 1.8t is going to be a much more fun car to drive than the 2.8. It has tons of engine mods available. It has the potential to out perform the 2.8 greatly. Turbo failure really isn't that frequent.
turbo failure is not a common problem on these since they are so detuned from stock, thye timing belt and all the other parts should be done at the time when you do get this vehicle are u buying privite or dealer ? what year is it if it is under 2001 i would say leave the water pump it is external and can be done at any time 2001 and up it is internal
