why are 1.8T 6spds so hard to find. i want and a4 1.8t and would like to have and extra gear is there that much difference between the 5spd and 6spd? does it go faster?

 

i wish i could put them side by side but oh well..here it is, also compared the 2.8s.. but all in all, just get a 2.8 tranny. easier to bolt up and it has 6% taller gears than the 1.8t tranny..

after trying repeatedly i could not get the 1.8t graph to take.. i don't know what the problem is with it so this is as good as you get i guess

1.8t tranny redlines(7200rpm) at ~36, ~63, ~96, ~134, and ~136

no he is talking about later model A4 tranny's.. they came with 6MT's..

im trying to post up the differences for the 3 different B5's but the 1.8t tranny graph is not taking for some reason

and 2.8's never came with 6 speed tranny's

 

I did notice that I am limited on topspeed because of my gearing so I just might think about the 2.8 tranny in the future.

 

2.8's came with 6 speeds? what years? my 98 2.8 sucks for high end.

 

B5 A4's never came with 6 speeds. The chart above with the 6 speed is from an S4.

 

Well the later B6 1.8T's came with 6 speed.

What does the 1.8T do for speed at 3000 rpms?

 

2003 a4 3.0 came with the 6spd. option
2004 a4 1.8T came with the 6spd option.
