Default 87 octane with APR 93 Octane program

I just went to shell to get some 93 V-Power. I tell the guy $25 V-power. I usually check to make sure they hit 93 but I didnt. he hands me the receipt and I start my car and I can tell right away that something is wrong. I look at receipt and it says the price/gal for the 87. I pull back in and ask him what happened and explain that I have programming for 93 octane. he says there's nothing he can do he "thought" he hit the 93 button. I assure him that if he had hit 93 the receipt would have printed 93.

This has happened to me before but I'm tired of going and spending $15 on octane booster to right this idiots wrong. what should I do? my car is not running well with the 87 and it went from 1/4 tank to 3/4of a tank...

what's my best bet?

You have someone else fill your gas tank up??
Your car will be fine. The knock sensor shouldkeep the engine from pinging, but dont expect the usual performance.

siphon it out, and save it for the lawn mower.

in the good old state of New Jersey it's against the law to fill up your own tank...

i know it's completely ridiculous. I would much rather fill it myself and I have...

but after being yelled at by multiple gas attendants I've given up. plus now they have access cards on most pumps that you have to swipe in order to use plastic...

is it worth going to buy some octane booster? and if so what type is the best?

I tried siphoning some gas out of my buddies rsx once. it was not pretty. they must have a screen to stop this exact thing from happening so i put it in as far as it will go then i went to start the siphon but all I got was a full lungs capacity of gasoline vapors. I almost puked/blacked out/fell down all at the same time. then for some reason I was really high and mybuddies were all accusing me of huffing gasoline...

Most cars made after 95 have anti-siphon tanks. And New Jersey blows!

Find some 100 + octane unleaded race gas and top off your tank with that.

What is the reason behind not being able to pump your own gas? That would really **** me off.

I have a hard time finding race fuel around here. where are some good places to look?

I'll probly just go pic up some octane booster from autozone and put three or four bottles of that in then top it off with the 93 I thought I had bought this afternoon.

I can't beleive the guy. he was like "not my problem, there's nothing I can do about it" I should've demanded a refund....

not sure why there's no pumping your own in jersey and yes it pisses me off having to wait for the guy to come to my car go help someone else then come back... its annoying. anyone know what the reasoning behind it is? probly to supply jobs to illegal aliens...
