the only reall diffrernces that i can see is the 30v v6 was introduced to replace the aging 12v v6 and america got the avant. otherwise the interior is pretty mch unchanged.

Iheard that the 12v are much slower and they have no supercharger for it... but i also heard that their the most reliable in the A4 line...

yes the 12v is the slowest in the A4 line up. althoough i still get up to speed quite quickly. the 12 is pretty reliable because it is a very basic engine and have been around since the early 90's. the 12v was rated at 172 hp and was discontinued in 97. the 30v that replaced it was DOHC and made 190hp in the a4 and i beleve the A6 got a 200hp variant. the 1.8t up until 2000 was engine code AEB and made 150hp, although many people who get this chip it to 200hp reliabley and safely. BTW it is said that the V6 is more relable due to the fact that it doesnt have a turbo. the 1.t is jus as reliable as long as its taken care of. the most commom issues with the 1.8t is the T-breaking and oil sludge.

Whatever year you choose, just make sure you get a 5-speed. NO EXCUSES!
