98 A4 Headunit Install

Ok folks, I have a non Bose system in my A4, the ones with the nokia speakers. I plan on upgrading these at a a later date but not right away.

I have a new cd/dvd player i want to install which has loads of Red/Yellow/White in/outputs and the power cord with 2 fuses which has a large black plug on the end split in 2, one with loads of pins and one wit 3/4 in it.

Now in the dashboard i have a set of 3 plugs cabled tied together. These are black - brown - green and a sliver circle shaped lead with a pin on the inside with a white background (radio?).

I have plugged the Black+Brown in the dashboard into the Black plugs on the head unit but its not turning on.

I am at a lost as to wtf to do next. I am not sure if i am connecting it up correcting or what as am a noob to motors lol

Any help would be great guys.
Cheers

NO one wants to say it but I will to save you messing up your car hearing that you're a self proclaimed noob. Sounds like you're in over your head.

You need a dash kit, wiring harness, and an antenna adapter to install an aftermarket radio in your car.

The only piece you can skip is the wiring harness, and that's if you plan on cutting the factory harness and soldering the radio's harness directly to factory wiring, which is a waste of time when you can buy a $12 harness and not cut into a factory harness.
