Everyone goes by KBB and NADA, when they are garbage. If your paying KBB prices your usually paying too much.

Offer him 8k and go from there. Have cash in hand, he would probably take it.
Always start way lower than you are willing to go. If your willing to pay 8800, dont start your offer there. Start at 8000, and go up from there. He may come back with 8500, and you'll say, "I'll take it".
****, if its been on the market for a while, go even lower!! When you say 7900, he'll be like "crap!" Then, when you offer 8500, that will sound even better because you started in the 7's.
Trust me, this is experience talking, comeing from both ends, selling and buying.
The guy I bought my car from had it listed for 8000, then 6900. It needed minor suspension work, and had a misfire. The guy was ready to donate it to charity thinking he could get 8-10k as a write off.
I offered him 4500 and told him to think about it.
I came back 2 days later with 4500 cash, and now the car is mine. I had to do about 500 of repairs, which is why I got it so cheap, but my point is, START LOW!
ya def do wut acetrebo said. my car was listed at 9500, but it was only on the market for about a week. i started my offer at 7500. he obviously didn't like that. he brought it down 9000. i said ill do 7750 cash, and showed him the green. he said 8500 was the best he could do. after a little more conversation bout the car and condition(which was hard as hell to find anything wrong with the car) i said 8000 cash was my final offer. he said he would have to think about it. so i left and the next day he called and said how about 8250. score
well i didnt see this post but thats what i did, he agreed on 8500 but i told him i wanted to look at a few more b4 i decided, it has 86k on it and there is a rather large rip in the front seat not a big fan of that, and the air bag light is on, said he had a dealer cleer it but it keeps coming back, also needs brakes and tires. I dont think the car is worth 8500, i wouldnt really want to pay more then 7 for that car, the body and motor were perfect though... im going to go look at a 2000 for 7995 tonight if i get this one i guess ill have to go j31...
For BT go with the 99.5. If you want to do a k04 again, 2000 is the best year because thats the only year you can get the J31 file for and it is SICK. Oh ya you knew that^^
PC16 is great for 99.5 too but J31 is a tad more sicker.
