Default put in intake (k&N) and now car sputters

So i just finished putting in a cone filter intake and when i start the car up it sputters.... i go back check everything and i decided to unplug the maf clip... go back in the car... turn it on and car is fine..... so i go back put the clip back on and turn the car on again... and guess what? yah it sputters... any one have any clue what i did wrong?

Try cleaning the maf (the sensor part, not the housing [8D]) with electronics cleaner/spray or alchohol. You might have man handled it too much during the r&r.

some of that compressed air in a can will do?


and is it safe to run it with out that clip plugged in to the maf

Not air duster. Its a fluid cleaner that is meant for electronics. Its ok to run the engine without the maf plugged in, but I wouldnt make a habit of it. Youll probably run rich and get a CEL.

alright... im not sure if this matters... but my maf is kind of side ways if you look at the picture... do you think it might be because of that?


some of the pictures that i have looked at before show it facing up...
