A4 1.8T 2000 Secondary Air Injection System (FC PA0411-35-00)
Help! [sm=dontgetit.gif]
I have a 2000 A4 1.8T. And the CEL turned-on. The CEL light was turned-on because of the following problem (based on diagnostic report):
Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected (FC PA0411-35-00)
What steps should I take to determine the exact cause?
Where should I go to buy the cheapest CD manual to try and repair this myself?
Should I even try to fix this myself? If not, where should I go to have it fixed? [sm=dontgetit.gif]

Yeah this is not covered a whole lot, so there really isnt much info about the 2ndary air injection... All I know is not to worry TOO much because its just an emissions related thing that permits faster warm up and makes the catalytic converter ready for operation sooner afer cold starting, and isnt gunna hurt your performance or reliability in the short term... "The heat produced by the secondary oxidation reduces start up time for the CC therefore improving the emission quality in the cold running phase."- Taken from my bentley manual cd (that you can get from www.ecstuning.com) Might make you fail an inspection though. From what I remember, its roughly $200 part, but first check the hose that goes into the front of your air box to make sure that it is still connected-(its about a 2 inch diam. plastic ribbed hose that connects to an attatchment that attatches to the front of your air filter box. Thats as much help as i can give you.. Im sure that avant2.6 will be here soon to tell you all about which pins in the ecu this has to do with and how to diagnose it from there.. Good luck.
