A4 1997 Radio Code, Photo attached!
I noticed a member here had posted some information on how to enter the radio code by pressing dx/fm and entering the correct numbers then pressing dx/fm again to confirm. I also noticed on another thread someone said the code should be posted by the spare tire in the trunk, little white square piece of paper sticker with a bunch of the car's information. I checked the trunk and its definitely there but I have no idea which 4 correct digits it is I have to choose. Do any of you guys any idea where exactly I have to look on that sticker that is the correct 4 digit radio code? Maybe you can recognize it, I have attached a photo of that sticker here:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...s/IMG_1061.jpg I understand you get only three chances correct? Also, does the car have to be on or off to activate the code? Thanks! :) |

On new cars the code comes on a seperate sticker with the radio serial number on it as well. often times that is removed thou. I never heard of the code being on that sticker but if you want to try go with the 0041. It seems like a plausable radio code. Actually i just saw the 1285 at the bottom. That looks pretty good as well. If i had to guess id say itd be the one at the bottom.

I posted the tidbit about the radio info being on a sticker by the spare tire. Got that info from a Livermore Audi salesperson. Since you get three chances to enter the info, there's only two 4-digit codes... you have a 50/50 chance.

I tried the 0041 and the 1285 and pressed the dx/fm to confirm and nothing happened! Not I got two strikes and it won't let me change the code again. What do I do?? :(

For the radio to reset and allow more codes to be put into it.
