Can a non-resistor spark plug such as the Beru Silverstone be used on the 1.8T , or the NGK sparks are better for my car

most people will recommend the NGK's.

Your radio will pick up ignition noise with non-resistor plugs.

My AWM engine on a 2001 A4 1.8T Q came with NGK PFR6Q.

Yeah the OEM's are NGK. The recommended seems to be BKR6E's.

I think BKR6E's are not platinum, and are not OEM recently.

BKR6E are copper. They work very well, just need to be changed about every 10-12K miles. Still, they cost only 1.50 each comparted to about 14 dollars each for NGK.

The platinum plugs are $10 each in Advance Auto Parts, and last 40Kmi.

My car came with platinum and I haven't tried copper.
