I test drove two Audi`s today a 2002 A4 3.0 and 2002 A4 1.8
I loved the SOUND and POWER of the 3.0 compared to the 1.8 but read on the forums that you can do more mods to the 1.8? One of my questions is can I make a 1.8 just as fast as the 3.0 ? Second question is what kind of mod`s can I get for the 3.0?
What is the better car of the two??

for around 700 to 1000 (ecu and injectors)depending on the tuner u go to you can get about 230hp and 275Tq to the crank
so that would beat a 3.0

you can get the K04 Kit for about 1500 and you can spend about 2000 more of a FMIC and exhuast 255hp/310TQ

Im young with a lot of energy and I have a 3.0 with automatic tranny... if i could ever do it again i would either go with a 1.8 with manual or 3.0 Manual

Yes you can modify the 1.8 to be much faster than the 3.0.

The only mods i can do in my car is exhaust, intake , air filter.. and thats about it. I cant supercharge my 3.0 because the tranny isn't strong enough.


But if proformance really matters deffinately go with a manual tranny!!!!!

Get the 1.8T . Chip it for $500 , and you will be just about as fast as a 3.0
Then you can take it from there, and make it ALOT faster then a 3.0

You know its 5 G's , right ?

 

5 g's and only 320 horse...

i'd spend my money elsewhere...

exhaust,
chip,
center diff,
suspension,
lighter flywheel,
clutch.
LSD(rear).

you will not be as fast, but you will handle alot better.
