A4 3.0L 2003 Reliability
Hello,
A dealership in town has a 2003 model A4 3.0L for sale. The car is new - it just didn't sell last year. Therefore the dealership is offering a big price reduction on it - it's about 31k instead of 38k (it has the premium package on it and such). I've driven it and it seems like a really sweet car, and I would really like to get it. The problem is that I am concerned about its reliability. Consumer reports car issue gave the A4 series bad marks for projected reliability.
Could y'all weigh in on my dilemma and tell me if its worth it or not? I need this car to last me for at least seven years and don't have the money to deal with repairing it all of the time after warranty is out. Anyone with prior A4 3.0 experience, please help!
Thanks a lot!

Oh, and one more thing. Do you think 31k would be a fair price? Consider the fact that although it is a new car, it is a 2003 model, and 2005 models will be here before too long. How low do you think we could convince the dealership to go?
I agree completely with AudiMick.
It is a German car and it will require dilligent care; oil changes and dealing with problems immediately. But you will be rewarded with a great ride.
Also... You can probably get the dealer down to 29K if you are a good negotiator, 31K is still good.

No worries bro. Those of us, who have been on this and other forums for a while, get tired of some topics because they are the most popular. We're just bored and always hope, with the next post, something new will grace the pages of the forums.
No reflection on you.
