A4 Burning Rich Overheating Turbo
There are very few threads related to this and most have no replies. The one with several replies said this is normal and to let the motor idle 3-5 minutes before shutting the motor down to allow the turbo to cool.
I have several farm tractors and two diesel trucks that have turbos and have never seen them glow. However, these are much smaller turbo's ran at much greater rpm's. The only real problem I have is that I have never abused this car or ran it hard enough that I can see where it would justify the turbo and exhaust manifold getting so hot.

After warm up, 194 degrees consistently(according to the scan).
I'm going to figure it out one way or another, any input you have or anyone else is greatly appreciated. I will post anything I find.
Thanks for the help so far!

Hello,
I have a 2003 1.8t cab, which has had some major issues of late.
I bought the car as a non-runner and have since fitted a used engine and a new (recon) turbo and a new stat/housing.
My problem is that the turbo glows bright orange after being driven a short distance when up to temp.
I have also replaced the cat and tried running it with no exhaust and it still does it, the engine does not appear to overheat.
Please help !!
