Default a4 sideskirt/moldings

correct me if im wrong, but the b5 a4 doesnt have sideskirts, it has moldings instead, right? I was wondering if it was possible to get the mouldings painted along with the rest of the black part that curves as it goes under the car. I want my car too look clean and i want to get rid of all the black unpainted parts on the body by painting them the same color as the car (silver), I also dont want to buy S4 sideskirts because they are very expensive, and no other aftermarket sideskirts will look right with the stock bumpers (from what i know). I was wondering if this was possible and if anyone had any pics of it???

I posted a side skirt a few days ago, do a search... it was simple, and I figured it would work with stock bumpers.

I dont think you'd wanna paint the moulding... its a rubbery plastic, which wouldnt take well to paint. regardless though, if you go aftermarket you'll need to take the door mouldings off, plug the holes, and have the lower half of your doors painted.

wait why exactly would i have to paint the whole lower half of the door??? what does the molding even have to do with the door? Couldnt i remove the molding , plug up the holes, and then paint all the black???

Search here and audizine. There has been a ton of talk about painting lowers lately. I'm doing mine next week. Instead of painting the door molding replace it with http://www.trim-gard.com. This is what most people seem to do. The product you want is under universal and is called eurostyle.

This is what you want: http://www.trim-gard.com/product.php3?Partno=8002S-20 This is what you use to cover up the holes, and yeah your gonna want to paint the trim gard to match your car.

I just posted in another thread that looks as though our crappy trim is a warranty issue... audi has recognized it as a fault on their end. APPARENTLY like a year ago, the dealer kept the parts in stock, and if you complained, they put new ones on... now it has to go through audi, so the guy took pics of my car, and he said it shouldnt be an issue.

I think the moulding will look fine, when its not falling off, or all wavy --> course my car is black.

I also heard that taking the moldings off means that you would have to repaint the door, is this true?
