A4 spring question...

Default A4 spring question...

will 2wd springs work on an awd car? its a 96 a4, thank you...

I dont' think so, just because everywhere I've looked (if I remember right), it specifies different part numbers for quattro vs fwd. Probably something to do with spring rates. They may physically fit in there, but the rates may not be right and your ride could suffer. Get in touch with a vendor to be sure though.

thank you, i have a chance to buy some h&r's cheap, but the part number was for fwd, and not the quattro... guess i will keep looking...

the diff is most likely that the quattro springs are stifer to support the heavier quattro. about 400lbs more

Most likely true. It can't hurt to call a distributor and ask if it's been done, or if it can safely be done though.
