Default A4 suspension help

Hey guys, the front suspension on my 98 A4 makes a sqeaky noise when im not accelerating or when im going real slow. The car handles fine when driving and seems to make very little noise if any. I asked a mechanic about it and he believes that the suspension doesnt need to be completely replaces, maybe just a re-alignment... What do you guys think it could be, or what I should do?

Squeaky control arms are common.

Replacing them is the only way to fix the squeak. Finding out which ones are making the noise is the hard part, there are 4 on each side on the front.

Could also be a spring. Are you using the stock suspension? If not what have you replaced...

Its all stock suspension, I want to lower the car about an inch and a half, so do you guys recommend new springs and control arms?

control arms or tie rods, could be a cv, but probably not. the ball joints on the CA's and TRE's are pure crap. they will keep going out if you drive any harder than ur grandmother. aftermarket is a good way to go, i replaced all of them over the past few days, and doing the work in my backyard ended up saving me plenty of money, i bought the entire package for 600, when audi wanted like 2g's. ecstuning.com is where to get them.

Yes if you are wanting to lower the car then go ahead with the springs or Coil overs which ever depending on money
