yes, swaps are possible. but its gonna cost just as much to swap, as it would to just sell the a4 and get an s4 that already comes with the 2.7t, then swap out parts on the s4 for the rs4 upgrades. i did quite a bit of research on the subject myself before i got my s4.

The engine itself, ecu, custom flashes, exhaust, motor mounts, all kinds of new wiring. A whole lot of stuff that comes on the S4 already. I'm tellin ya man, gettin an S4 would be a better start for the project. The S4 comes with better suspension too. What exactly are you tryin to accomplish? (other than wanting to swap out the engine)

when looking at the 00 a4 you dont expect it to be a fast car, ive been asked if its my moms car, and its quick for being stock, but ive seen on eurotuner of a guy making the swap with the s4 engine, and he accomplished, and now he drives the a4 body with a 588hp s4 modded engine, i want to have a sleeper, a legit one, i bought my car for 4700, but i have replaced the clutch and added an intake along with some other needed vacuum hoses under the hood, i honestly only have seen 1 s4 here in my area, so finding and buying an s4 would be a task, i have seen used s4 engines online for less then 3gs, but i dont have someone to make that swap, and i havent decided yet, i need more info, i am looking for performance though but i also love my a4 its my first car, and ive only had it for about 2 months

The A4 and S4 are the same car, the S4 just comes with the 2.7t already in it (I think I said that already?) You could just de-badge the S4 if you're worried about a sleeper. But there's plenty of fast A4's out there too, they're just mostly a 1.8t. But just looking at the price of the engine itself, for 3g's, you could sell the A4 and get the S4 and prolly still have a little left over, which you could do a basic tune and simple upgrades to start with. I just got mine tuned a couple weeks ago, with upgraded diverter valves, intake, and exhaust. I love it the way it sits now. Of course, I do want to go faster, but thats all gonna take a while (I hate bills...) I'll get there when I can though

if only there was an s4 to buy lawl,
thanks for the help by the way : )
how much do you think is a good price to set the 00 a4 at, if i do sell it, major problems with the car, the bumper is slightly damaged, the left front fender is dented, but i have the replacement ready to get painted and installed, and the engine light and abs brake light are on, but thats really all the car has wrong

2 months and buyers remorse huh?

I was looking into swapping the 2.0l motor into my 98, but thats such a stupid idea. Much like dropping in a motor that costs the same as your car. I dont know what you know, but going on the assumption that its been 2 months, drive it for another 10. Get comfortable with basic maintenance then decide if its worth keeping. In fact, Ill tell ya what. Pull that motor out and put it back in properly before you commit yourself to a project as daring and pricey as this.

just reflashing the software totally changes the way these cars handle. for 3k, hell thats a gtr turbo kit....= lots of power.

Save your energy. Work smart not hard bro.
