I have a 99 A4 2.8 and everything was ok, I turned the car off and when I went to start it back up it wouldn't start.

When I turn the key nothing happens no click just the power dims a bit like if it was normally starting.

I tried giving it a jump and it nothing happened. The voltage meter reading good.


Under the hood(when its popped) when I turn the key theirs a slight sizzling sound coming from around this area on the drivers side under the hood.


Can anyone help me please?

 

So what exactly is the battery voltage?
Battery terminals clean?
Car in park or neutral?

 

My money is on either the starter or the ignition switch itself.
