ABS problem?
Hi chaps, i've just bought my first Audi A4 and i'm well pleased. Its the 1.8 SE model. I have a problem with it...when i pull up just before the car stops i can feel the brake pedal vibrate (like the abs is activated). It is fine when braking from high speeds etc but always does it just before the car finally stops.

Is this a common problem and will it cost me a lot to fix?

Cheers, Tom

Same thing happening to me since I had two new lower suspension arms fitted last week. If you have found out the cause of the problem please let me know. I will post another message if I find the solution.

Ive had my tracking control arm replaced recently under a recall, and as soon as I left the garage I get this very same thing... Brakepedal judders and makes a strange noise right before i come to a complete stop. Can anyone shed some light on it?
I've hard of the brake pad coming off the backing? Maybe check to make sure all the pads are seated properly. Thats all I can think of although I have heard of this problem before
your problem is your speed sensor. there is one on each axle....most likely it just wanted reinstalled correctly, if you have a lift you can probably fix it yourself.....or you can take it back to the shop and have them do it. if they damaged it, a new one is about 140 bucks from ecstuning iirc....
Actually guys your problem is your ABS sensor. I had the Exact same problem and took it to AUDI themselves to diagnose. After spending $400 CANADIAN ( i know i got ripped ) the problem got fixed. You know its your ABS sensor when your stoping at a stop sign and your ABS activates under light braking.
Hope that helps
Hope that helps
sounds like the speed sensor I used to have that problem, but when doing a wheel bearing I had to beat the old sensor off and now theres a nice new one in there so it's like I killed 2 birds in one stone
