Accelerating with manual

I just got a 2006 2.0 A4 Manual. I am having trouble accelerating from first gear. Seems to hesitate before any power kicks in. Is it perhaps my timing of clutch and gas? I have owned many standar cars before. Thanks.

With the electronic throttle you have to give it gas earlier. It will also help if you slow down the clucth release just a tad.

Yeah these cars dont react well when you dump the clutch, I get quicker launches letting off bit by bit.
