I agree. My last car was a manual and was much much faster than my A4. I wanted an auto because I didn't feel like fussing w/ it anymore. The A4 isn't fast, and its not a sports car, I didn't buy it for those reasons. On normal days of rush hour and what not, its nice to have a tip.

I agree with that last bit .. but other then heavy traffic , tip sucks the big one!
I would know , I have one.

I have a tip and think its alright. Manual is always going to be more fun and sporty. If you have to settle for tip like i did, it is nice to be able to have some control in shifting if you want to. My wife would have killed a clutch if we got 5sp. and she can barely understand the concept of the tiptronic. If you floor it without totaly hammering the gas pedal, i think this car pulls better than most of the other traffic on the road. I like to put it in tip and floor it in 2nd gear around 2300 rpm. Sometimes it seems like my tranny downshifts too soon, does anyone else experience that?

If you really want to go , put it in 2nd and keep it around 3000rpm.
