Adding BlueTooth / Navigation
Hello all, I'm a new 2006 A4 owner and really enjoying it. The question I have is ... Is it possible to add the tech package to my car after the fact? I would love to add the Blue Tooth option if possible, and if I have to add the Navigation system to make it work, so be it. Yes I'm kicking myself now for not asking about if it was possible to buy the car with it. Does anyone know if I buy the factory equipment what I would need to do?
There's the option of adding a Parrot Bluetooth kit, but that's an aftermarket setup.
Not sure about the factory version, but if you get it from the delaership, expect to overpay.

I figured I'll be paying high prices. I would just like the Audi fit and finish. If I can just go with the BlueTooth, then I might save a couple of bucks, but if I go with the complete Nav system, I know it will cost me
I'll be calling the dealer today to see if I can buy the unit(s) and how much they will be. If the cost isn't to much and I buy it (them), I'll document the installation and post it in here. Actually, after I find out the prices and IF it's even possible, I'll post the prices in here to maybe compare with diferent cities / countries to see if we can all benifit by buying cheaper somewhere else.
Wish me luck!

Well, I have some bad news. I called my local dealer to find out if I can buy the unit(s) and then I would work on installing it myself. Apparently the car doesn't come pre wirred for the BlueTooth and Navigation options and must be ordered from the factory. There is a diferent wireing harness that gets installed with the technology package and because of this, the addition after the fact would be far to expensive.
I'm really disapointed with this answer, and if ANYONE has some better news from YOUR local dealer, please post here and let me know what you find out. In the mean time, I might take up the suggestion of the "Parrot Bluetooth kit" hands free option ... we'll have to see.[:@]
And now back with some good news. I found on another forum that it is possible and I'm about to buy the navigation system very soon (first step in getting bluetooth working). I'll keep posting what I find out and keep everyones hopes up
I got an email from someone who may be able to help.

Everything is retrofitable. Do not call the dealer for help. A. They will tell you it's not possible and B. It will be EXPENSIVE from them.
Check out http://navplus.us for help. There are several sellers, I would recommend Proxis.
There are also many tutorials for your reading pleasure.
