adding remote entry

RE: adding remote entry
Hello runner. Welcome to the forums. Hope you like it here. As for the keyless entry, as a genral rule it's not to difficult as long as the car has power locks to start with. There are many different brands these days, none that are so bad they stick out in my mind. If it's an automatic, you may also want to consider remote start too. If installed as a package the remote start doesn't really add that much to the price but it sure is nice about January.

RE: adding remote entry
I would highly recommend having it done by a reputable outfit though, as opposed to DIY. They aren't really that difficult to install, but I'm still fighting with issues after installing my remote start. Seems to work fine when I'm out there messing with the car, but in the morning when I use it, it sets off the friggin' alarm. [:@]
Also, I can't seem to get the remote lock/unlock to function. I do know what I'm doing (somewhat) as this is about the 6th vehicle I've installed a remote starter in.
A question though: are you certain it isn't equipped with a remote entry? I realize you obviously didn't get a remote unit with it, but maybe it was lost? My 97 came with a remote, but it may as well have been thrown away. Looks like someone's dog chewed on it.
