Parking brake, adjusting
https://www.accessaudi.com/elsawebjc...al/hinweis.gif Note[/align]

t
The rear brakes are self-adjusting, so the parking brake does not require adjustment in normal operation. Adjustment is only necessary after replacing parking brake cables, brake calipers, brake pads or brake discs.

t
The parking brake system must be bled and must be functioning properly.

t
The parking brake lever, parking brake cables and brackets must be fully installed.

Adjust lever position at brake calipers using feeler gauges to ensure that A = 1.5 mm.

Depress brake pedal firmly at least three times.

For ease of illustration the diagram shows parking brake lever removed from vehicle.

Press release button -2-. (Both spring-loaded hooks must catch eyelets on parking brake cable).

Let go of release button.

Firmly apply parking brake lever at least 3 times.

Place parking brake lever in rest position.

Press release button. (Both spring-loaded hooks must catch eyelets on parking brake cable).

Let go of release button.

Remove feeler gauge from brake calipers.

Check lever position at brake calipers.

Distance A between lever and stop must be between 0 and 1.5 mm.
