i used my code reader to check the codes... and nothing came up that had to do with the air bag...
so why is it on i ask...
not quite sure...
i cleared all the codes that were there thinking what the heck maybe it'll turn off
but sure enought shes still on!

how can i turn it off?

My air bag light was on and I took it to the stealer they said it was anerroneous fault and they cleared it out for me, if that helps.

 

that happened to me and i took the car down to a european car specialist and the said that there was a problem with my seatbelt clip. the part next to the E brake. he said that sometimes a little swich goes off in there that gives youa warning that your airbag has a problem.

Overall, there could bea little something wrong with the seat belt clip. Have it checked out

make sure you just don't delete the code, you should also reset the airbag unit with the vag cable and try to trace what code it gives you. mine had the same problem and it was only a poorly plugged airbag cable, after cleaning and replugging it to its place, i reset it again and it went off forever...

 

make sure you code reader can read airbag faults, alot of them only read engine codes. i tried to use my friend code reader but it didtn read airbag faults. then i tried another friend's modis computer (he owns a shop) and it showed up in a the airbag catagory.
