This sort of thing didn't work on a 1.5Ltr Toyota Paseo, so it's still not going to work on and A4 or any car for that matter.
You'd be better of with a Cold Air Intake.

Intakes are not the right mod for our cars... buy a chip, anybody would tell you that here.
If you got one that was big enough, it just might be a real supercharger. Belt driven though... and I think they go for more than 30 dollars. I think.... :P
