Airbag sticker removal
Just bought a 2005.5 A4. The airbag sticker on the sun visor will not come off. Has anyone had sucess in removing these. I tried a heat gun but the sticker is very thin and just will not come off.
ORIGINAL: wingman

if it doesn't..maybe you're doing it wrong...that or the audi ones use a different kind of glue to bind itself to the vinyl than what BMW uses.
Different kind of glue....?
Yup, Audi specifically developed their own in house glue for this project. I wouldn't bother man, as Jest said... it wasn't designed to come off, nor is it really necessary. But, sure, be my guest. She's right... GooOFF WILL take off this sticker, and morph your car into the show car I know it is
.
Careful though, this stuff is toxic. Can't say I've had experience with these toxins on vinyl... so I wouldn't be surprised if you actually warp/discolour your vinyl.

Well it is my car and find those stickers offensive. It is not part of the original Audi design it is an after thought to appease the attornies. Do you keep the stickers the dealer places on the rear of YOUR car or the licence plate covers with the dealer name on it.
Acetone also works well but it evaporates quickly ... at the risk of getting flamed for owning a BMW, here's a DIY link on E46fanatics.com ...

DIY Airbag Sticker Removal
Hi all, just joined the forum and decided to reply to a six year old post, pretty awesome of me, eh?
I'm going to try the ideas in this thread and the one from 2007 (the iron idea). I'm surprised there's not more indignation from the auto buying world on these stickers because they are completely stupid and do nothing to increase safety.
If you drive a mule of a car then maybe you don't care about nice aesthetics but these stickers are insulting to the leather, wood grain, and all elements of design in any luxury car's cockpit. Eyesore would be another good term.
I did a general good search and saw the recommendation of using a hair dryer and xacto knife to lift the corner off but didn't get very far.
cheers, Adrian
