Id throw the gpopshop some biznaz, they have always been very motivated to answer any of our questions by email and seem to have a good warranty on their work etc.

 

most poeple do it to teh hot side though. i just got some ported and polished stuff today in the mail!!!

 

You can also send them your old turbo in and they will rebuild it for $250 and have it back in a few days

I was thinking of getting the K03 with the K04-15 impellor since I have it chipped. he said the porting/polishing would be of no benefit with the way i drive, etc...

 

You should have the correct ecu tuning and supporting modsfor a k04 if youre going to go with a k03-k04 rebuild. It should run ok with k03 tuning, but the general consensus is to not run on it for long and to go easy on it until you get the right tuning.

 

Keep us posted - who do you have your chip from?

 

My chip is the GIAC as installed by AWE Tunning in Philly. The guy at Gpopshop seemed to think it would run fine. ???

 

it will run just like your old k03 - if you want more power you can get a k04 chip - ask him how much he would charge to upgrade.

I'm guessing this is more of a question for G-pop and GIAC but will the rebuilt k03 to k04 act just like a k04? Or will the K04 tuning even be wrong for this turbo?
