Anybody ever think of doing water injection?
An interesting concept, supposed to be very good for it...water injection....just wondering if anyone has ever thought of it, or even has it.
sounds interesting

just like avant80's post shows, water injection is old and it hurts. from experience, i worked on steam jets (aka. kc-135a/q) they would inject atomized water directly into the engine to manipulate compression for combustion for exactly 120 seconds. this was straight up abuse to the turbine wheel, as it was rated for much less thrust. this concept of "water burning" in turbo jet engines has since been replace with turbo fan (a dual spool turbine with the core compressor and turbine wheel spinning a free wheeling fan + low speed turbine to produce more air/combustion for the core--somewhat of a paradox). long story, sorry about that, but unless you only use your car on a track and love to spend money to rebuild it, this process can prove to be more expensive than nitrous.
