I have an Audi A4 2001 model. A couple of weeks ago the Display Information System stopped working. When I switch on the car the system lights up and the Service warning appears (which should happen since I have not yet had chance to reset it). However, instead of running through the checks, the DIS goes blank. It doesn't display the radio/CD player either.
I am confused as to what could cause this since the dashboard lights up normally, The DIS lights up initially but then goes blank...
Any ideas?

Press the button under the windshield wiper stalk. That button turns the display on/off.
