Audi issue's
To make a long story short I am a volvo enthusiast with a friend that has an audi that knows nothing about cars however she took really good care of the car had it maintained by the dealership and the timing belt broke in her a4 1.8t 2001 with only 40k miles on it. The warrenty is up by one year what should she do if anything. The entire engine needs to be replaced. I love these cars My wife and I are looking at A3 is this something I should be worried about with these cars. Just a little direction would help
Wow thats extremely rare. She might have a good case against Audi to try to get them to replace it for her since she has had it maintained only at the dealer and it has such low mileage. Call Audi of America and see if you can make some sort of claim or just see what they have to say about the situation. What is REALLY odd is that the 2000 and newer a4's have the updated timing belt tensioner, the pre 2000 are the ones notorious for early timing belt failure.
