Audi Navigation Plus Questions
 

I found someone selling a audi navigation head unit (model # 8EO 035 192C) and was wondering if anyone knew how much modification would be needed to put in my car? I know I would prolly have to buy a wire harness and the cd maps for the navi but is there anything else needed for this to work? Does this play dvds? I can prolly get this for $800, good deal? I really want a nice screen with navigation, would I be better off buying aftermarket? I know I ask alot of questions but when I decide to buy something I get overexcited:) btw its the euro model does that matter? Thx

i remember my friend modded his gps to play dvd because it does have the right requirements as an lcd. Best idea, go to like bestbuy to the car audio and ask them how to make a gps into a dvd player.. they can explain it to you pretty nicely. Maybe there is some sort of manual somewhere, but i dont know of it

Most of your questions are addressed in the FAQs there, and any others can likely be fielded by one of the many very knowledgable and helpful guys that hang around the board. Short answers are that yes, a Euro RNS-E can operate in most platforms with a modified map DVD. I put one in mine and love it - IMHO, it has a clean, factory look, and it works great thus far.
