Audi - Rattles & Quality Problems ?
Hi Everyone
I just want to hear from other Audi Supporters about 3 things as listed below:
1. Are your Audi's also such a big rattle case as mine ? - For the damn price they ask I'm thoroughly dissapointed ( 2 models 2 years apart with the same irritating
interior rattles - especially the doors ?)
2. Have you noticed that the new models - the neat and tidying up of the engine compartment got slumpy - they discontinued the battery and air conditioner piping
cover
3. Have you al-so noticed that on the new models - the neat and tidy push and flip up lighter configuration is discontinued ? - it became a standard Japanese type configuration in the "German Pride"
Obvisiously a big saving on their side but what do we get for this VORSPRUNG DURCH TECHNIK slogan with all the German precision and quality propaganda ?
Are Audi not very subtle and cunningly after the release of a more refined and more finished car stripping their customers of the initial quality at an even higher cost ? And if so - what happens where it is not naked to the eye ???? - more savings - I have seen that accident picture of the A3 on internet with all people dead and not one air bag popped - the second Audi that I noticed it from
I had a 2.0 A4 Std 5spd (2002 Model) and a lot of problems with the worst of the worst dealership here and said I'll never buy Audi again but then another dealeship talked me into buying Audi again - Currently I have a A4 3.0 Quattro Tiptronic (Jan 2004 model) which is a fantastic car except for two problems;
1. It is a rattle box
2. The Tiptronic in "D" drive get stuck in 1 st gear and do not change up - it must be done manually and then it will change gears automatically
I'm in the line of buying a A3 3.2 Q/T , A6 4.2 Q/T and a Pike Peak 3.0 TDI Q/T but if Audi is proceeding with the policy of curbing their quality and not doiing something about the rattles then I will get either the new Volvo range (test driven the new ones - no rattles) that anyway offer more as a standard for less money than Audi (S40R, S60R, X90 Off Roader) or the Mercedes range of A200, an AMG selection and a MLK

No rattles with my S4.
I have not heard of this problem.
Judging by the tone of your post, you are pretty upset over a quality control issue with your Audi.
Maybe you have had a bit of bad luck. I'd take it to the dealership and bitch about it and get Audi of America or Audi of UK (don't know where you are).

if your having problems with rattles thats something you can easily demonstrate for the dealer dont take "thats normal" for an answer also if your tranny is gettin stuck in 1st thats definately not normal I would take it to the dealer and tell them what you think...

Is the Pike's Peak even in production? I thought that was just still a concept vehicle.
If the automatic mode of your Tiptronic is sticking in first gear , you have something wrong with your ECU or TCU or even your tranny syncros. I would get that looked at.
