You know that you could have bought a switchblade key right? They work for 97's and up.

the switch "key" is cut for your car, the remote part of it can be programmed for your car, any fob bought from eBay if used are useless

Yes I know switchblade keys work, I used to have one for my 97. I bought it off ebay. You can find tons of auctions for uncut switchblade keys. All you have to do is take it to the dealer to cut. Mine only charged me $5. Make sure you call ahead though because some dealers like to charge like $50 bucks to cut keys. Just beware. I've posted the FCC numbers a bunch of times. You need to look on ebay for one that ends in 4 if i recall correctly. But any of the three button ones should be ok, just don't get one with a trunk release.

I got mine off ebay and it was a different FCC number than the key I already had. It still worked, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

What are you talking about? You can reprogram them to any car of remote compatibility.
