Ive seen all these cars that were well maintained go alot of miles they are all reliable. Personally I would go with the Audi. I would never drive anything else.

Mercedes is out!...I had to chose b/t a B5 and an E36, and the only reason I went for the Audi was because of Quattro...I have a few friends with E36's and E46's and essentially the interior of the cars are almost identical...The Bmws are an amazing bang for the buck when you are looking at them performance wise...to me both are good looking cars...if you are not looking to do anny modding whatsoever, go for NA(no turbo), and I'd say keep your eyes out for a low mileage car with all service receipts...I am not biased, mainly because I am in love with my Z3....but they are both classy cars with hefty service costs...

when you find the right car you will know,

good luck!

Keep your eyes on craigslist, you can usually find cars way under blue book, with decent mileage...

yo, im a recent owner of a high 11 / low 12 sec dsm myself. My two top choices were a bmw 330ci and a 2.8 audi a4. I drove both cars plenty of times and definately drove them decently hard. Straight away speed the bmw wins with hands down... but anything other than that and the audi a4 quattro will put it to shame EASILY! The audi handles 100x better, and shifts smoother, with a smoother clutch, and interior design is about the same, i like audis CD player area better but the center console and doors i must admit i like better on the bimmer, its your choice but for an everyday car that would give you joy day in and day out, the audi has this competition won. Good luck and i hope i helped.
