Default (B6) Can someone tell me what these 2 things are and how do I use them?

So the first pic is some little thing located next to my headlight switch. What is it used for and how do I use it?

2nd pic is from my rear view mirror. I think if I press the button the mirror autodims at night but is that all? I see a light to the left and right of it.

Thanks in advance!

I guess the first one is a timer for the headlights (foglights?), so you can have light all the way to your house door.

On my b6 the first one is headlight height adjustment but it has four settings, not in my manual. It may be auto leveling headlights.
You could try looking in the manual yourself though,i take it you have one.
