B7 DV?
I tried searching, but can't seem to get a clear answer since most post are about the B6 or ealier. I have a B7 2.0T manual
1) A local shop (KMD tunning in Westwood, NJ) is trying to sell me a blow off valve.
2)AWE (main number in Willow Grove, PA) said it has a DV.
3)AWE dealer (Speed Technik in Norwalk, CT) said I have neither. That the B7 does not need one due to the direct injection.
How is this possible? There has some type of boost release right? I heard of race cars not having them, but they don't care about turbo life and just rather not risk lossing any boost from a leaking blow off valve.

I'm not the expert here but they'll chime in soon enough. First of all NO BLOWOFF VALVE!!!
The "direct injection" statement doesn't make sense to me because my B6 had one as stock, it's required to divert the reminant boost from the turbo when you let off the gas pedal.
I think that the B7 has the turbo integral to the exhaust manifold from what I've heard and maybe this has something to do with it but I don't know for sure. But turbo applications need some way of relaesing these gasses. You're B7 is obviously new and is probably set up to do this by the German engineers very efficiently. Most of us put new (better) ones on as the car gets older and we modify the car to get more boost.
Don't know if that helps you at all.
