I think that the b7(a4) which i testdrove is way overengineered. However the brakes, suspension, and handling are amazing!

i wouldnt trade my b5 for a b7. unless it was an s4 or rs4

b7 rs4 well.. thats a different story [sm=smiley27.gif][sm=Awwww.gif]

Personally, I like it. I haven't driven one yet, but I rode in one with my dad for a test drive. Its not nearly as 'sporty' as my '01 sport with cloth seats, its a whole different car infact. The suspension is much smoother (even w/ the sport pacakage) and the interior more refined. The bigger engines (so I've heard) are a much needed upgrade (I hope this isn't a one time thing), and the new body style (in my opinion) while not for everyone, is very nice. At the very least people can admit its unique and does make the car stand out.

PS. I rode in a 2005 2.0t Automatic with sport and cold weather package.

I like it .. havent rode in one yet .. But I am sure the 2.0T is great. Especially with a flash ..
I hope to be getting rid my my B6 and getting a 6mt B7 in about a year.
I like its styling too , just needs a tint, drop, and wheels.

btw 1.8T how and why would you not take a B7 over a B5 ..
You gunna drive that car for ever ?

I testdrove a manual 2.0T last weekend.
No sport package.

I didn't like the fact that the suspension felt too soft.
The seats felt flat.
The seats didn't go as low as they do on my B6. (manual seats)

I couldn't really feel turbo lag. If I didn't know I might have thought that it is non-turbo
It didn't feel very fast but I have an APR chip on mine and mine is not a quadro. But APR has a chip for B7 anyways

Interior was almost the same as my B6

I am not specificly very impressed with the B7 but Audi's in general are impressive cars and I like them weather it is B5 - B6 or B7.

I have to say I like the looks though. Just because it is new and different. And I will buy it at some point....

Well Dave, lets see...

i have to say that the b7 is a nice car ok? not saying its not, BUT its so overengineered that it lost its beauty as a car .
The b5 on the other hand is the oposite, simple and beautifull. may not be the fastest thing around, but it has that magic to it.
when i look at my b5 i go " ahhh (nice thought goes here)" but when i look at a b7 A4 i go .. " ha..WTF"

Haha.. and no i wont drive it forever but as long as i do i wont take a b7. Unless its an S4 or rs4/rs6. (which wont happen ofcourse lol)

How is a B7 S4 different from a 2.0T ? Aside from the engine... you could make a 2.0 look the same with some mods.

The ride quality was made better with the B6 , I doubt they took it down a step. And SRK , the reason the car was felt so soft is cause it DIDNT have sports pkge. The B5 and B6 would be the same way without sport.
Whats not to like ? with just a flash , you're almost at 300lbs/tq on 93 octane. Just wait for stage 2 and 3.
BTW , 1.8T , are you even chipped ? You definitly could'nt take even a stock 2.0T if you're not. Even if you were , it would be up to the driver.

eh? i never asked how they are different. Hell yea id get a b7 s4. the hp would make up for everything else.

and no i am not chipped yet.

And you are right it would depend on the driver, but i am confident that i can from what i experienced with it.

I meant it would come down to the driver if you WERE chipped.
You would get pulled on not chipped. Even if it were a Tip.
