ok, so i checked in a week or so ago with code P0420, I was told it was a bad cat, i had it checked at an Audi shop, and they said it was probably a bad o2 sensor and it had run rich (which i noticed) and burnt the cat and the pipe (not sure about the actual name, everybody calls it "the pipe") anyway, does this kind of damage seem right? is there anything else i should be looking for? I have to bring it in to the Audi dealer tomorrow so they can check the code (which came back twice after clearing) and decide on covering the damage. anything else anybody could tell me so i know what i'm oing when i get there were be GREATLYappreciated.

 

your post cat o2 sensor is bad. you just need a new one

 

the shop i went to said that it would have cause the cat to be burned to the point of no return, and started talking order forms. was this guy just f*** me? he's seemed pretty honest in the past
